Description
7mm silver plated jump rings.
These jump rings are perfect for connecting jewellery findings together. With 100 in each pack they are ideal for creating a variety of handmade pieces.
Jump rings are a circle of metal with a split in it so you can open and close them. Each jump ring is approximately 7mm in diameter and has a shiny silver plated finish over copper base metal. Consequently, they are great for making necklaces, bracelets and earrings.
Make sure you open your jump rings north to south by twisting the metal either towards or away from you using two pairs of pliers. Like opening a door. This will keep their shape and allow you to easily close them again. Never pull a jump ring apart at the split as it will distort the shape and may weaken the metal.
Jump rings have so many uses. For instance you can use them to join charms to necklaces, bracelets and earrings. They are also good for creating movement in jewellery pieces by making a joint between two parts of your project and for making chains. There is a technique called chainmaille that uses jump rings connected together to form patterns. These larger rings are a very popular size for this particular type of jewellery making.
