Adore Heart Card

Adore Heart Stamp Card Sample

Hello. Elf Katrina here. I hope you are well.

Today I am sharing how I made a card featuring one of the new Downland Crafts stamps called Adore Heart.

I started with a piece of Neenah 80lb cardstock the same size as my card base which is 5″ by 7″ I first placed the stamp on to my card to work out where I wanted the hearts positioned. I did this in my stamp positioning tool so I could ensure a good even impression.

Once I was happy with the position I stamped the lower positioned heart using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I then cleaned my stamp and stamped it again on to a seperate piece of white cardstock in Lawn Fawn Wild Rose ink and cut it out using my scan n cut machine and placed it to one side. You can change it up to any colour ink you like and you can fussy cut the image easily.

Next I worked on the background. I cut a mask to cover the black heart using a post it note and placed it over the top. I then took Distress Oxide ink in Black Soot and Candied Apple. I mixed a small amount of each with a little water on to my work surface. I started with the red colour first, taking a small paintbrush I picked some of the ink up and tapped the brush gently over the card to make small splatters. I then repeated this with the black. Once I was happy with the effect I removed the mask and left it to dry.

Once dry I took my red stamped heart and using some foam squares I adhered it above and overlapping the black one. I then took some red stripped twine and wrapped it around the edge of the card attaching at the back of the card with tape.

To finish the card I adhered it to the card base and added some sequins for some shine.

I am really happy with how it turned out. It would look great in different colour combinations.

Head over to the store now to pick up your Adore Heart stamp and be sure to post a picture of your finished card to the Downland Crafters Facebook page. I cant wait to see your creations.

Katrina.
